Withymore BnB offers comfortable facilities and a warm welcome...
Well away from the hustle & bustle of the modern world you’ll find a special place called Withymore Wood. At Withymore Wood we offer quality bed & breakfast accommodation and a very warm welcome…
Withymore is home to us, Sally & John Bleaken, we arrived in 2017, moving a short way down the hill from the village of Hawkesbury Upton.
Withymore BnB is nestled on the edge of Hillesley, surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodlands, offering a peaceful and scenic setting. Withymore BnB is ideal for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers, with easy access to walking paths and local wildlife, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway.
We are also only 1 mile from the famous Cotswold Way & Monarch Way National Trails. The Cotswold Way runs for about 102 miles (164 km) from Chipping Campden to Bath, passing through picturesque villages, rolling hills, and historic sites. Hillesley and Hawkesbury Upton are conveniently located near the trails, making Withymore B&B a great stopover or base for day walks. The trail is well-marked and offers routes for all abilities and our home is on one level so great for those with limited mobility. You’ll find stunning views, charming pubs, The Fleece Hillesley and plenty of opportunities to experience the natural beauty and heritage of the Cotswolds.
Withymore was once part of a small dairy farm but the woodland itself, (spelt Withymoor) is ancient woodland and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book as likely to have been under the ownership of the Manor of Groby. It is also noted that the wood can be traced back to at least the 13th century, where it was part of a large deer park. Today it is still home to wild Fallow, Roe & Muntjac deer and they can often be seen grazing on the lawns.
Withymore Wood is adjacent to Lower Woods Nature Reserve which is owned and managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
We look forward to welcoming you!
